RINI ELIZABETH MUKKATH
Rini Mukkath is a senior media professional with over 15 years of experience in storytelling, media strategy, and communication. Originally from India and now based in London, her diverse upbringing—shaped by her father’s work with international NGOs in disaster relief—gave her a global perspective and instilled a lifelong commitment to social impact.
Currently, Rini consults across a wide range of industries, including projects focused on community restoration, local justice, affordable housing, and children's welfare. Her work includes advising on the restoration of St George-in-the-East and addressing homelessness, underscoring her dedication to advocating for underrepresented communities.
At the Media Diversity Institute’s Get The Trolls Out! campaign, Rini leads efforts to combat hateful narratives and amplify diversity through strategic and impactful initiatives that champion minority voices. This aligns with her broader mission to harness media as a force for social change.
Her expertise extends to lifestyle media, where she serves as the Editor of Luxe Code, a magazine exploring architecture, design, and art.
Beyond her editorial and advocacy roles, Rini provides media strategy and partnership consulting through ET Global Consulting. She also teaches journalism writing, research methodology, and leadership skills to young people, empowering the next generation of communicators and changemakers.
A former Assistant Editor at The Hindu, a respected English daily in India, Rini brings a wealth of journalistic expertise, further enriched by recognitions such as the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum fellowship.
Holding a Master’s degree in International Journalism from Cardiff University, Rini combines her deep understanding of media with a passion for education and human rights. She is particularly focused on addressing the challenges posed by digital disruption while drawing inspiration from her global travels and professional experiences.
